Russia expanded its attacks on Georgia on Sunday, moving tanks and troops through the separatist enclave of South Ossetia and advancing toward the city of Gori in central Georgia, in its first direct assault on a Georgian city with ground forces during three days of heavy fighting, Georgian officials said.
The maneuver — along with bombing of the Georgian capital, Tbilisi — seemed to suggest that Russia’s aims in the conflict had gone beyond securing the pro-Russian enclaves of South Ossetia and Abkhazia to weakening the armed forces of Georgia, a former Soviet republic and an ally of the United States whose Western leanings have long irritated the Kremlin…

JERUSALEM – Jews should be “burned” and “thrown in the oven.”
Israel murdered 6 million Arabs.
Jews control American politics and dictate decisions of war and peace.
The Jewish state is leading a “Holocaust” against the Palestinian people and was responsible for 9/11.
The above are just a sampling of a large volume of racist, anti-Semitic and anti-Israel propaganda that can be found on user-generated pages on Sen. Barack Obama’s official campaign website, which allows registered members to form groups and post content in online “community” blogs.
The Obama campaign does not monitor all blog material but says it removes offending posts brought to the attention of site administrators.
A search through the community blogs on Obama’s official site under such key words as “Zionists,” “Israel Lobby,” or “Jews” brings up thousands of entries, some containing what can easily be described as hate material…

China is set to overtake the US next year as the world’s largest producer of manufactured goods, four years earlier than expected, as a result of the rapidly weakening US economy.
The great leap is revealed in forecasts for the Financial Times by Global Insight, a US economics consultancy. According to the estimates, next year China will account for 17 per cent of manufacturing value-added output of $11,783bn and the US will make 16 per cent…

WorldNetDaily Israel Insider is reporting that analysts working separately have determined the birth certificate posted on the Daily Kos website and later on Sen. Barack Obama’s “Fight the Smears” campaign website is fraudulent, and now two different actions have been launched to try and obtain the truth about the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee’s birth.
The Israel Insider report said the two analysts it interviewed both have been “able to independently discern the name ‘Maya Kassandra Soetoro’ from artifacts left behind in the process of forging a new fake document for Barack from an image of Maya’s original document.” Maya is Obama’s younger half-sister.
The report follows a posting from another researcher, identified by the news publication as Techdude, that the birth certificate is a forgery because it originally documented the birth of a woman in the 1970s.
Blogger Mitchell Langbert now has launched an online petition to the Federal Election Commission in which signers are asking the agency to “take responsibility to verify the eligibility of Mr. Barack H. Obama to be president of the United States.”…

HUNTSVILLE — The state of Texas defied an international court and executed Jose Ernesto Medellin late Tuesday after the U.S. Supreme Court denied a stay of execution for the killer in the 1993 Houston gang rape-murders of two teenage girls.
Medellin, 33, was pronounced dead by lethal injection at 9:57 p.m., nine minutes after receiving the fatal cocktail and nearly four hours after his scheduled 6 p.m. execution.
In his final statement, Medellin apologized for his crime: “I’m sorry that my actions brought you pain. I hope this brings the closure to what you seek,” he said. “Don’t ever hate them for what they do. Never harbor hate.”
He then looked toward the witness room in which his friend, Sandra Crisp, was watching, crying softly, and smiled. “I love you,” he said.
In the adjoining witness room, relatives of the two victims watched with little apparent emotion.
Medellin, a Mexican national who spent most of his life in the United States, was condemned for the June 1993 murders of Jennifer Ertman, 14, and Elizabeth Peña, 16.
The girls were raped and strangled with a belt and shoelace after they stumbled into a drunken gang initiation rite while cutting through the park to get home before their curfew…

An appeals court in California has ruled that state law does permit homeschooling “as a species of private school but that statutory permission for parents to teach their own children could be “overridden in order to protect the safety of a child who has been declared dependent.”
The long-awaited case resolves many of the questions that had developed in homeschooling circles across the nation when the same court earlier found that parents had no such rights – statutorily or constitutionally – in California. The ruling released this morning said the dispute came out of juvenile court proceedings in which court-appointed lawyers for two children demanded “an order that they be sent to private or public school, rather than educated at home by their mother.”
The dependency court did not agree, “primarily based on its view that parents have an absolute constitutional right to homeschool their children,” the appeals court said. The lawyers then advanced their case to the appeals level, which earlier granted the order… Click here to read entire story

Lewis-Palmer School District 38 did not violate the First Amendment rights of a 2006 graduate when it disciplined her for mentioning Jesus Christ in a valedictorian speech, a federal judge has ruled.
The former student, Erica Corder, said Thursday that she is considering an appeal.
U.S. District Court Judge Walker D. Miller dismissed the lawsuit Corder filed in August 2007, accusing the school district of violating free speech and free religious expression.
Corder was one of several top-performing students chosen to share in Lewis-Palmer High School’s 2006 commencement speech. The students’ remarks were screened in advance, but Corder changed her message on the spot to encourage the audience to consider the Christian faith. She was allowed to graduate, but the principal first required her to write a letter explaining her actions and acknowledging the remarks were her personal views, not the district’s.
Fifteen months later she sued, saying that the requirement to write the letter and the pre-screening of the speeches were unconstitutional. Her family also accused the district of treating religious and nonreligious speech differently as a violation of the equal protection clause. She is represented at no cost by Liberty Counsel, an East Coast law firm that takes up religious causes….

… It could all come clear within the next 2 months.
“The event that the Bible says will take place is basically a peace treaty that will be made with Israel and it’s enemies around it,” said Franklin.
A seven-year peace treaty that Franklin says will start the countdown is a treaty that headlines show Israel badly wants right now. If that 7 years is to end by Rosh Hashanah, mid September of 2015, it would have to start by the end of September or early October of this year, 2008…

A team of archaeologists in Israel has unearthed what’s believed to be the royal seal of an Old Testament prince who is said to have tossed the prophet Jeremiah down a well.

The stamped engraving, known as a “bulla,” was discovered earlier this year about 600 feet south of the Temple Mount, but is just now making headlines.
Team leader Dr. Eilat Mazar of Jerusalem’s Hebrew University says the imprint was found in clay, astonishingly well-preserved, bearing the name of Gedaliah, the son of Pashur.
“How absolutely fantastic and special this find is can only be realized when you hold in your hand this magnificent one-centimeter piece of clay and know that it survived 2,600 years in the debris of the destruction, and came to us complete and in perfect condition,” Mazar said…

A Florida mother experienced what she is calling a miracle when her young daughter was presumed drowned in a pool, and three strangers brought the girl back to life.
Meagan Durocher, who will turn 2 later this month, fell into a pool at Bristol Pines in Naples, Fla., Saturday evening while attending a party for her uncle, Naples Police Officer Steve Walden.
The girl was underwater for more than a minute, according to one witness. Kathlene Durocher, Meagan’s mother thanked Naples Police Officer Benjamin Vasquez, one of the people who immediately came to the child’s aid, but has been unable to identify the other two helpers.
“They were complete strangers to me,” Durocher said yesterday in an interview with the Naples Daily News. “I don’t know who it was. I want to meet them because they saved the life of my beautiful, almost 2-year-old baby.”…
King James Version
But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ.
New International Version
But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ.
